- Rad Power Bikes, a Seattle-based ebike company, raised $154 million in funding. Fidelity Management & Research led the round and was joined by investors including T. Rowe Price, Counterpoint Global (Morgan Stanley), Vulcan Capital, Durable Capital Partners LP, and TPG’s The Rise Fund.
- Persefoni, a Tempe, Ariz.-based climate and carbon accounting management platform, raised $101 million in Series B funding. - Udemy, a San Francisco, Calif.-based education platform, raised $421 million in an offering of 14.5 million shares priced at $29 per share. The company posted $430 million in revenue in 2020 and a net loss of $78 million. Insight Venture Partners, Prosus, Norwest Venture Partners, and Stripes Group back the firm.
- HireRight Holdings, a Nashville, Tenn.-based workforce risk management and compliance solution company, raised $422 million in an offering of 22 million shares priced at $19 per share—it had previously planned to price shares at up to $24. The company posted $540 million in revenue in 2020 and a net loss of $92 million. General Atlantic and Stone Point Capital back the firm.

The company posted net revenue of $219 million in 2020 and reported a net loss of $26 million. Maveron, Tiger Global, T. Rowe Price, Fidelity Investments, and Lerer Hippeau Ventures back the firm.
- Braze, a New York City-based customer engagement platform, and its insiders filed for an IPO. The company posted $96 million in revenue in 2020 and a net loss of $32 million. Millennium Trust Company, ICONIQ Capital, Rally Ventures, InterWest Partners, MCG7 Capital, Blumberg Capital, and Meritech Capital Partners back the firm.
- Sweetgreen, a Los Angeles-based salad company, filed for an IPO. The company posted $221 million in revenue in the 12 months ending Dec. 27 and reported a net loss of $141 million. Fidelity, T. Rowe Price, Revolution Growth, D1 Capital, Anchorage Capital Group, and Lone Pine Capital back the firm.

- Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is planning to raise roughly $6.5 billion to fuel the firm’s aggressive deal-making pace, according to the WSJ, which says a16z is talking with its limited partners about a $2 billion early-stage fund (its eighth) and a $4.5 billion growth-stage fund that would be its third. As we noted when we talked with the firm about its $400 million seed-stage fund in August, it has been on a fundraising tear since early 2020.
