Data: FactSet; Chart: Axios Visuals
Facebook's parent company saw its market cap fall below $600 billion last week for the first time in nearly two years, meaning its now below the threshold set by congressional antitrust proposals.
The Senate bill is based on a 180-day trading average, so Meta would still qualify. Quick reminder that an aide to one of that bill's co-sponsors told me that the $600 billion mark was set to snare a specific group of Big Tech companies, including Meta.
The House bill is more about a moment in time, which means Meta could maybe dodge it.
